Johnsmas Foy 2006, Lerwick, Shetland

24 June 2006

Johnsmas is the time at midsummer that the Dutch herring fishing fleet arrived in Shetland in centuries past and it is also linked with the Haaf fishing. Nowadays it's a time for a bit of a festival, mostly centred on Lerwick but also celebrated throughout Shetland. Here are a few photos of the Viking Parade.
