Austin Taylor is a freelance photographer
based in Shetland, UK; he created Austin Taylor Photography in 2007 and our business focusses on a number of key areas and services. We create stunning photographic
images of Shetland, its wildlife and events as well as photographing in locations further afield. Our growing range of travel images from elsewhere in the world is an increasingly important aspect of the business, with images available for licensed use or travel mementoes and gifts. We undertake
commissioned work of a wide range of subjects and locations both in Shetland and elsewhere and undertake occasional speculative work when opportunities arise.
Austin has lived in Shetland for nearly 20 years, a place he very much regards as home and where the majority of our photographs have been created. His main photographic interests reflect his lifelong interest and concern for all aspects of the natural environment, from astronomical phenomena to landscape and wildlife. But he also enjoys photographing people, especially at events, and has developed a special interest in creating stunning photo-merges that capture unusual viewpoints of otherwise familiar buildings or viewpoints.
Our work has featured in a number of publications including in news media and magazines, on websites and as commissioned art; it has also won several photographic competitions and the business is firmly established in the market, with a growing reputation for the quality of our work. Our photography has been displayed in a number of exhibitions, including a solo exhibition of 24 of our distinctive photographs at the Islesburgh Community Centre in Lerwick in 2008
A wide range of our photographs are available to buy as mounted or unmounted prints and calendars through this website whilst other formats, such as postcards and framed prints are available in selected retail outlets and at various craft fairs and farmers' markets in Shetland. All images on this
website are available as prints or licensed for commercial or other use but
