About Austin Taylor Photography |
Austin Taylor is a freelance photographer
based in Shetland, UK and focuses on creating photographic
images that capture the essence of Shetland, including its wildlife, landscape and events as well as
of places further afield. Images are available as prints (including mounted or framed) and for licensed use.
He
is available for commercial and commissioned work in Shetland and elsewhere
and runs occasional workshops so that he can share his
passion for photography.
Austin has lived in Shetland for
over 20 years, a place he very much regards as home and where the majority of
his photographs have been created. His main photographic interests reflect his lifelong interest and concern for all aspects of the natural environment, from astronomical phenomena to landscape and wildlife. But he also enjoys photographing people, especially at events, and has developed a special interest in creating stunning photo-merges that capture unusual viewpoints of otherwise familiar buildings or viewpoints.
Austin's work has featured in a number of publications including in news media and magazines, on websites and as commissioned art; it has also won several photographic competitions and
his business is firmly established in the market, with a growing reputation for the quality of
his work. Austin's photographs have been displayed in a number of exhibitions, including a solo exhibition of 24 of
his distinctive images at the Islesburgh Community Centre in Lerwick in 2008
and as part of Islesburgh Photographic Club's "Four
Seasons in Shetland" exhibition at the Shetland
Museum and Archives in 2010.
A wide range of
Austin's photographs is available to buy as mounted or unmounted prints and calendars through this website whilst other formats, such as postcards and framed prints are available in selected retail outlets and at various craft fairs and farmers' markets in Shetland. All images on this
website are available as prints or licensed for commercial or other use but
