Latest News (...click here for News Archive...) 15 January 2012 There has been a massive arrival of Iceland gulls in Shetland, at least 152 according to the count carried out by Shetland Bird Club. For the full story go to the Nature in Shetland blog. 13 January 2012 Scalloway Fire Festival - I have put a few images on my blog and there are a few more by me and Chris Brown on the Shetland News site. 8 January 2012 What a Happy New Year! A fantastic sighting of Killer whales on the first Sunday after the New Year festivities! And what a sighting! A very big thank you to Karen Hall and Helen Moncrieff for the the early updates - very soon excitement gripped the south Mainland, with, perhaps, hundreds of folk enjoying the spectacle at sites from West Voe, Grutness, Boddam, Tros Wick, Levenwick, Hoswick, Sannick and elsewhere. These photos are from Levenwick, where I managed to get my best views. |
