9 August 2010 Nice article in last Saturday's
Financial
Times weekend magazine about trout fishing in Shetland titled "A
whole new angle" by Merryn Somerset Webb (author "Love is not
Enough", Editor Moneyweek) following a photo shoot we did of the
family going fishing over in Vementry a couple of weeks ago.

4 July 2010 Completely updated
stock images gallery launched - many of the old
favourites going back to 2004 are still there but we have added many
new images from 2009 and the first part of 2010 for the first time.
Most of these images are being added to our updated display stock
for sale at farmers markets, craft fairs etc and were first shown on
Victoria Pier for the Flavour of Shetland where they proved really

The Shetland Classic Car Show saw a fantastic collection of old
cars, motorbikes, steam traction engines, models and other
attractions over the weekend and some of our images were published
as a collection to accompany the story over on
The Shetland News.
29 April 2010 Well, Shetland
Folk Festival is
now well and truly underway and we'll have photos on the site soon,
probably next week. In the mean time, if you didn't see Baskery today,
make it your business to do so soon - they're fantastic! They are
three sisters that have incredible vocals, are all highly talented
musicians and they make a really loud sound too!
12 April 2010 Just as we were updating the site on 11 April came
the news we'd been waiting for - Aurora! We abandoned all further
site update work and headed out, in the end for 5 hours - but what a
result, with spectacular aurora, both out in the country and in town
- despite all the light pollution! We said over on our
blog that it was the
best aurora for 2 years but having examined the images and seen all
the colours that were present (albeit faintly) we now think it was
the best since 2006. We've uploaded a new gallery of the best images
taken on the night and are working on some time lapse movies for
upload over the next few days.
11 April
2010 This past month or so has been very busy finishing a
number of winter projects and looking forward to Spring and Summer.
We finished the
Mirrie Dancers
Winter Illuminations project, managed to bag some winter wildlife,
have done the odd portrait session and worked on some astronomical
images too. We made another donation to
CAMDA thanks to purchases from our travel
photographs in Mongolia in our
Ulaan Baatar
and
Bayan Ulgi Region,
western Mongolia collections.

We
are carrying out a minor site upgrade
with site search and repositioning social media icons so expect some
inconsistency for a little while as we try out possible alternatives
- please feel free to let us have any comments on the new buttons
and boxes! Also, if there are any problems with sit search we'd be
pleased to hear of them. Thanks
15 March 2010 We have uploaded the
final galleries of images for the Mirrie Dancers
Winter Illuminations project - images at Longfield Chapel,
Dunrossness together with updated galleries for both the Burra sites,
at Duncansclate and Houss - see the final galleries at
Mirrie Dancers Winter Illuminations Galleries.
In preparation are our following time-lapse movies at Duncansclate
and Longfield as well as a proper DV video taken at Duncansclate.

12 February 2010 There is an unfolding humanitarian disaster in Mongolia, which is suffering its worst dzud (summer drought followed by severe winter) since 2001, when 4 million livestock perished and many nomadic people lost their way of life or their lives. It is estimated that 20 million livestock could be lost this time. Half of aimags (provinces) have been declared disaster areas and loss of life is expected among herding communities. Read more about

8 February 2010 We've uploaded the first galleries of Husky Photos - Class A, B, C, C2 and a general collection from around the site of the Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain Aviemore Sled dog rally at Aviemore. Remaining galleries of the individual teams organised by class are being finalised for upload over the coming days. Also, check our austinsphotos blog for a short animation and some background to our work on this project.

15 August 2009 We have carried out a minor upgrade to the site, adding and updating a number of pages and image galleries, improving the look of page headers and titles as well as updating the links page. As well as that the old
projects and articles pages have been replaced by a new Blog page, which we will add to over time with longer stories and background information about our photographic projects and interests. Finally, we have now integrated our Twitter page into the site with a number of links and it is now the first place to get advance news about updates to the site and other information about projects we're working on.
14 August 2009 We have just returned from an exciting trip to China and have posted new galleries of images from Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Leshan, Emei Mountain and Shanghai in the Travel Gallery.
